photos on postcard by Camille Moirenc

Bonjour! This week’s carte postale is from Corsica (la Corse), the French island in the Mediterranean Sea.

My dear friend in France sent me this postcard featuring the cities of Bastia (top photo) and Saint-Florent (bottom photo), which are located in northern Corsica.

My friend writes, “Corsica is a beautiful place. You can be in the mountains in the morning and by the beach in the afternoon.”

In the top photo, you can see the Old Port and the Jean-Baptiste Catholic Church in Bastia.

In the bottom photo, you can see Saint-Florent landmarks, like the Citadel on the left and the Saint Anne Parish Church in the center.

About Saint-Florent, my friend adds, “St-Florent is a nice place to visit outside the summer season, otherwise it’s too busy. It’s right next to Patrimonio, which is a very famous Corsican wine region. In the south of St-Florent, it’s more like a very dry place with some limited vegetation. The road going across is quite nice and ends up next to Ostriconi, which is a very nice beach.”
