Bonjour (or should I say Buongiorno)! This week’s postcard features the opulent hotel formerly known as the Westin Europa & Regina overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy!
The luxury hotel is a combination of five 18th-century palaces. The Westin Europa & Regina closed in 2018, but was renovated and reopened in 2019 as The St. Regis Venice.

I am lucky enough to have visited Venice once but I went in August and it was too hot and crowded to fully appreciate its beauty. I have vowed to go back and visit in the Spring or Autumn.

How was Venice? You’ve got a good plan – I read somewhere that April-May and September-October are the best times to visit.

It was memorable…we had a room on the front of the hotel with a balcony that overlooked the gondolas on the Grand Canal.
