Bonjour! This week’s carte postale features the interior of the Amiens Cathedral, the largest cathedral in France.
Located about 75 miles/ 120 km north of Paris, la Cathédrale de Notre-Dame d’Amiens is a Roman Catholic Church. It was built in the Gothic style beginning in the 13th century.
Events are planned from November 24, 2019 to November 22, 2020 to celebrate its 800th anniversary!

I went to Amiens last January, and it was very charming. The cathedral is truly iconic, and I especially enjoyed the short stroll in the Saint-Leu district, as well as visiting the Maison de Jules Verne!

How wonderful you got to visit the largest cathedral in France. The two attractions you mentioned sound interesting, too – I’ll have to put them on my list! 😀 It appears to be a short train ride from Paris to Amiens – is that right?

Yes, it’s only about an hour to 90 minutes by train from Gare du Nord. Very accessible for a day trip!

Sounds good. I hear that many people who visit Paris also take day trips to Versailles or Disneyland Paris. It’s good to know that Amiens is another good option! Thanks for sharing!

There’s so much more to see from Paris (e.g. Giverny, Auvers-sur-Oise, Fontainebleau, Provins…). The options are endless!

According to the patrimoine-histoire website (https://bit.ly/2Vzw5Rv), the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris could fit inside the Amiens Cathedral – huge indeed!!
