Wednesday Postcard: Nancy, France

Bonjour! This week’s carte postale features Place Stanislas in the city of Nancy, located in northeastern France.

The square was built between 1752 and 1756. It was named after Stanislas Leszczynski, who served as Duke of Lorraine from 1737-1766. He was father-in-law to Louis XV, King of France.

Clockwise from largest photo (Place Stanislas) are:

  • Fontaine d’Amphitrite
  • Fontaine de Neptune
  • L’hôtel de ville (City Hall)
  • Le palais du gouvernement
  • La place d’Alliance
