Bonjour! This week’s carte postale features L’Abbaye aux Dames in Saintes, a city located in the Charente-Maritime region on the western coast of France.

  • Founded in 1047, it was the first Benedictine abbey in the Saintes area
  • During the French Revolution, the building was used as a prison
