Bonjour! This week’s carte postale features an Encaenia procession at Oxford University.
- Also known as University of Oxford, it is the oldest university in the English-speaking world (1096)
- It’s located 56 miles/ 90 km northwest of London
- A serial comma that’s used “to prevent ambiguity” is sometimes called an Oxford comma (University of Oxford Style Guide, page 13)
Until the next Wednesday Postcard, à bientôt!
It’s a beautiful city and definitely worth a visit. So is Cambridge!
