For many music fans around the world, Wrapped, the annual data compilation of users’ activity on the Spotify audio streaming platform, has become something exciting to look forward to (around the first Wednesday in December).

On one hand, it makes me anxious to know they’ve kept tabs on everything I’ve listened to for the past “year” (approximately January 1-mid-November). On the other hand, it’s fun to see how they present the data to you in a brightly animated infographic.

Do I dare defy and dispute the data?

For fun, I’ll share only my top songs according to the app.

I’m leaving out the results of my top artists, top genres, or top albums since they seem inaccurate to me. (This reaction appears to be a common one based on Spotify’s response, which explains their methodology!) That’s fine – this is all for fun anyway!

My Top 5 Songs

My top 5 songs in 2025 were: « C’est La Vie » by Claude; “All I Wanna Do” by Sheryl Crow; “Sports car” by Tate McRae; “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars; and “Look for the Good” by Jason Mraz.

These results make sense to me!

  • I’ve previously featured the English-French song, « C’est La Vie » as a Music Monday song
  • I know I listened to the 1995 Sheryl Crow hit, “All I Wanna Do” a bunch of times after singing it karaoke-style at Planet Word in Washington, D.C. in January 2025 (read more about it here)
  • I also couldn’t get enough of the infectious beats of “Sports car” and “APT.”
  • The Jason Mraz song, “Look for the Good” came up as a suggestion after I searched for encouraging songs during one of my low moods. What a life-changer of a song! Its lyrics, “It always seems impossible until it’s done / look for the good in everyone” changed my perspective and lifted my spirits

No one is asking, but here are the five songs that round out my top 10 in 2025:

  • “Man Of The Year” and “What Was That” by Lorde
  • “Honey” by Lenny Kravitz
  • « Entre deux pensées » by Greg Gontier
  • “Messy” by Lola Young

Spotify has been releasing Wrapped since 2016! If you’re interested, check out my Wrapped for 2022, 2023, and 2024.
