Here are three pretty-in-pink wines to enjoy on International Rosé Day (celebrated on the fourth Friday in June).
La Ferme Julien (2023) is a French wine that I discovered at Trader Joe’s for only $5.99 a bottle. It’s light in taste, but feels dry in the mouth. (I had some while eating buttery popcorn and binge watching Love Island UK!)
Château Ste Michelle (2022) calls their rosé wine simply, “Rosé.” I got it from Safeway for $9.99. The label describes it as dry, crisp, and elegant. It’s crisp and elegant, yes, but not as dry as the one from La Ferme Julien. It feels smoother on the tongue. This wine from Washington State pairs nicely with a saucisson-beurre baguette!
Bacci (2022) is produced by V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena, California (Napa Valley). Like all of their wines, this rosato (Italian for rosé since V. Sattui’s founder is Italian) is only available at the winery or through the winery’s website (not in stores or restaurants). It’s a bit pricey at $29 a bottle, but it’s worth every cent. This rosato is floral and fruity and goes well with baked salmon or sushi – two of my favorite foods!
Tell me in the comments: What’s your favorite wine?
