Are you Team Alfie or Team Gabriel? 💕
Season 4 of Emily in Paris is finally here! I rewatched all three seasons of the hit Netflix series over the weekend in preparation for the new season (2024).
I enjoyed them all, but these are my favorite episodes from each of the three previous seasons (2020-2022).
Season 1, Episode 4: A Kiss is Just a Kiss 💋 (2020)
In this episode, Emily meets Camille by the flower stand, Gabriel makes Emily an incredible omelette using the special pan, and Gabriel saves the day at the last minute when Emily needs to impress a client and Gabriel makes an amazing meal for Emily, Sylvie, Antoine, Julien, Luc, and the client.
Speaking of Season 1, did anyone else notice one of the photographers wearing a UC Berkeley “Cal” baseball cap in the third episode (“Sexy or Sexist?”)? I missed it the first time, but it’s nice to see a California reference in there! 💙💛
Season 2, Episode 3: Bon Anniversaire! 🎀 (2021)
This is the one in which Emily wears a stunning strapless dress with a giant magenta bow on it. I liked how Camille took Emily to a hammam to unwind. It was sweet how Luc took Emily to his favorite place to celebrate his birthday – at Balzac’s tomb at Père Lachaise, the famous Paris cemetery!
Season 3, Episode 6: Ex-en-Provence 🪻(2022)
This is the one where everyone goes to the South of France for a client event. There are gorgeous lavender fields all around. Emily and Gabriel have lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant (which, in real life, is called “Clover Gordes par Jean-François Piège”) and, no fewer than three times, get mistaken for a couple! In a lighthearted moment, it was cute to see Alfie so giddy when given the opportunity to drive the luxurious (and very purple) McLaren car back to Paris with Emily.
I’m looking forward to Season 4 as I am rooting for Emily to find true love. At the same time, it’ll be sad to see it happen possibly at the expense of Gabriel and Alfie’s blossoming friendship.
Tell me in the comments: What’s your favorite episode so far?
Thanks for reading Bonjour: A Francophile Blog!

I will be watching Series 4 mainly because it’s filmed in Paris; I think the story and dialogue are naff ( as we say in the UK) but not enough to make me switch off 😂😂😂

I also watch the show to catch glimpses of Paris! I suppose “naff” is like how we say “cheesy” here in the US. 😂 The impression I got after watching part 1 of Season 4 is that it’s moving toward more drama, less comedy, though. I wonder what’s in store for part 2!
