Bonjour! This week’s carte postale is one of my favorites: a promotional postcard for Monte Proser’s Copacabana nightclub in New York City!
The hottest spot north of Havana
- It opened in November 1940 as a supper club, providing cocktails, dinner, and entertainment
- It closed in 1972, then reopened in 1976 as a disco
- The 1978 GRAMMY Award-winning song by Barry Manilow was named after this nightclub
Until the next Wednesday Postcard, à bientôt! 💃🏻
So cool. Love the history.

I love how the message on the back of the postcard looks like it was written with a fountain pen 🖋 – I was thrilled to find this postcard 👍🏼
