For many music fans around the world, Wrapped, the annual data compilation of users’ activity on the Spotify audio streaming platform, has become something exciting to look forward to. It’s much-needed levity in our complicated world with all the hard things!
On one hand, it makes me anxious to know they’ve kept tabs on everything I’ve listened to for the past “year” (approximately January 1-October 31 or so). On the other hand, it’s pretty cool how they present the data to you in a brightly animated infographic.
For fun, here’s a quick summary of my top artists and songs according to the app.
My Top 5 Artists

According to Spotify, my top artists in 2024 were Sabrina Carpenter, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Sarah McLachlan, Taylor Swift, and Greg Gontier.
It’s no surprise to me that Sabrina Carpenter was my top artist in 2024. I had “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” on repeat, especially during the summer of 2024.
I started listening to “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley & The Wailers again after watching the insightful biopic, Bob Marley: One Love. After my beloved mother passed away in February 2024, the song’s uplifting message of “don’t worry about a thing ’cause every little thing is gonna be alright” significantly helped me manage my grief.
I’ve been a Sarah McLachlan fan since my college/university days. She went on tour in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. I remember listening to this album this year (along with her other incredible albums) as a way to support her and her tour!
I enjoy Taylor Swift’s music, but I’m a bit surprised that she was one of my “top 5” artists this year. It has me questioning my reality: Did I really play “Cruel Summer” and “Guilty As Sin” that often?! Her cultural influence is undeniable.
I must admit I discovered Greg Gontier’s music after looking for a French version of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” He did a cover of the song with French lyrics and posted it on YouTube. I instantly loved his original song, « Grands Yeux Bleus » and the data prove it! He is an emerging star and I look forward to his new music in 2025.

My Top 5 Songs
My top songs in 2024 were: « Grands Yeux Bleus » by Greg Gontier; “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” by Sabrina Carpenter; “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley & The Wailers, and « Moi, je t’aime » by Dominique Fils-Aimé.
I’ve previously featured « Grands Yeux Bleus » and « Moi, je t’aime » as Music Monday songs, too!
Songs that round out my Top 10 in 2024
Here are the five songs that round out my top ten in 2024:
- “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield (this song was originally released in 2004 but experienced a revival thanks to the rom-com, Anyone But You, which I love)
- “Girl, so confusing featuring lorde” by Charli xcx and Lorde (I prefer this remix with Lorde)
- “Mamushi” by Megan Thee Stallion feat. Yuki Chiba (no doubt played so many times trying to learn the viral dance with my daughters)
- “yes, and?” by Ariana Grande (the beat reminds me of Madonna’s “Vogue,” which made me nostalgic for the early ’90s)
- “Training Season” by Dua Lipa (my favorite track from her album, Radical Optimism)
I know you can’t argue with data, but I could’ve sworn I listened to more music by Shawn Mendes and Lenny Kravitz. They both released great albums in 2024 (Shawn and Blue Electric Light, respectively.)
Spotify has been releasing Wrapped since 2016! If you’re interested, check out my Wrapped for 2022 and 2023.
