My younger daughter and I spent a wonderful week in Paris (in June 2025) and we got to see several of the real-life Emily in Paris filming locations from Seasons 1 and 2. We were delighted to learn so many of the show’s external shots were filmed in public places and were free to visit.
(Exception: the Château de Versailles is located about 15 miles/ 24 km southwest of Paris and timed tickets must be purchased online in advance to visit the château, park, and gardens. Plan to spend an entire day at this beautiful historic place!)
Whether it’s your first (or fourth) visit to this timeless city, having seen these places on the popular show is sure to make Paris feel cozy and familiar.

Filming locations in Versailles, France
Although Emily in Paris is fictional, it was fun visiting the show’s real-life filming locations in Paris and environs, like the Château de Versailles (purchase of timed-entry ticket required).
As I was reminded of its historical and cultural significance, I felt immense gratitude for the chance to visit this incredible place. (More to come on our visit to Versailles.) After all, this palace was the 17th-century royal residence of King Louis XIV and where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, ending the Great World War (WWI)!
The “Let Them Eat Cake” fashion show was filmed in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles (Season 2, Episode 10)
After the Grégory Elliott Duprée fashion show at Versailles, this courtyard is where Sylvie tells Madeline that she is resigning from Savoir and opening her own agency with Luc and Julien (Season 2, Episode 10)
Season 5 of Emily in Paris will premiere on Netflix on December 18, 2025. Can’t wait!

a short video I made while walking to the Place de Valois
I honestly haven’t been keeping up with Emily in Paris since Season 2. However, it is really cool to visit Paris and tour the sites that’d been filmed in the series. I wonder if the Terra Nera Restaurant (Gabriel’s restaurant) is any good? Sounds like you and your daughter had a fantastic time in Paris! Passez les bonnes vacances d’été!
I’ve read mixed reviews about Terra Nera with some people saying it’s got good Italian food, while others say it’s a tiny tourist trap with OK food. We didn’t eat there, but it was fun to imagine Chef Gabriel whipping up something delicious! Profite de ton été !
Great article beautiful pictures, I lived in Versailles and worked in Paris for many years, now west in Brittany. Thanks for the memories of always, Cheers
